Wacom Rendering Seminar at Car Styling #180, published in 2007

New Firebird design proposal in 2007 at Car styling #180,
Since "the Car Styling ", Japanese best selling design magazine shut its door and printing presses forever as company, lacking of finding new talent and intelligence getting wide-spreading in Car-design world.
Someday I will start the New article" Wacom Rendering Seminar, again at FB and Blogger.

- PS Step by step Demo.

1) Sketch on a sheet of copy paper then scan the sketch.
-

-
2) Draw the horizon and ground according to the design of the car's surface. Once you do this well,
you can give the surface a more solid expression.
-

-
3) When you draw in the reflections on the glass surfaces, the interior seen through it and the beltline on the opposite side, the sketch becomes more three-dimensional.
It is also important to give the car a sense of shine.
-

-
4) The aim is to propose a Firebird with an attractive stance, so we draw large wheels about 20 inches in size.
In this composition the body side is seen from a rather high point, so we give the wheels an oval shape accordingly.
-

-
5) We shape the wheel into ovals, change the opacity for the front and back wheels (denser for the latter) and put the focus point on the rear of the body.
We draw the side sill black to tighten up the underbody.
-

-
6) Draw sky with an air brush on the up-turned surface of the body side (the surface perpendicular to the light source remains white).
Brush repeatedly according to the shape of the surface to create a sense of three dimensions.
-

-
7) Finally draw in the details (headlights, side air outlets, tail lamps, exhaust pipe, etc.). The car is completed for now.
-

-
8) Next we draw the background.
We can use layer masks and draw quickly, without worrying about the car.
Here we have used a watercolor touch to express the car's potential with power.
-

-
9) We combine the background with the car.
We cut out the background slightly overlapping the car then adjust with the eraser tool to improve the boundary between the car and background.
If the background seems too strong or too weak, you can adjust it by changing the opacity or with the options.
